Beginning May 1, Bridgestone Americas will raise the prices of Bridgestone consumer-grade tires and Firestone truck / bus radial tires in the US and Canada by up to 8%, depending on line and model.
Bridgestone Americas attributed the decision to “increased costs of doing business and changes in the market, in particular due to increased cost of raw materials.”
Since April 1, Bridgestone has already raised prices in the region for its entire range of Bridgestone commercial truck tires and Bandag retreads. The increase affected the United States and Canada and also amounted to 8%.
Hankook Tire America announced that it will increase the prices of its commercial grade tires sold in the United States from May this year. The increase will be up to 5%.
Hankook attributes this move to higher logistics costs, higher raw material costs and other market factors that have contributed to the company’s higher costs.
